An improbable run continues for the Atlanta Braves who took down the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday night to punch their ticket to the World Series. Eddie Rosario came up big again with a three-run home run that gave Atlanta a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish in a 4-2 win. Ian Anderson allowed one run over four innings and the bullpen took care of the rest closing it out.

Rosario set a franchise record with 14 hits in the series including the decisive home run. He was named series MVP for his efforts. A special case could have also been made for Tyler Matzek who entered the game in the seventh with a run in and runners at second and third with no one out. He proceeded to strike out the next three hitters including Mookie Betts to get the Braves out of the jam.

Enough can’t be said about this group. They struggled for most of the season and didn’t climb above .500 until August. They lost their superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. and had every reason in the world to pack it in. Credit to Alex Anthopoulos for giving them a reason to believe at the trade deadline by going out and getting some much-needed reinforcements. Credit to Brian Snitker and the rest of the roster for never giving up.
